About Gypsy Siberians
Located in South Florida, Gypsy Siberians is a small, family run preservation cattery dedicated to preserving
the health, temperament, beauty, and unique qualities of the Siberian breed.
Our program began in 2019 in Saint Augustine, Florida, with our foundation queen, Gypsy.
We are proudly registered with The International Cat Association (TICA #38554)
and operate as a legitimate Florida business, including collecting and paying applicable state sales taxes.
For our family, Siberians are especially meaningful. We love and support all cat breeds, but severe cat allergies made traditional cat ownership difficult for us and many of our families. Siberians gave us the possibility of sharing our lives with cats without the same level of symptoms and suffering we had previously experienced.
Preservation Breeding vs. Producing Kittens
There is a major difference between an ethical preservation breeding program and breeding simply to continuously produce kittens.
We don't breed kittens and then look for people to buy them. We build relationships with families first and plan our future pairings around our established reservation list. Our goal is for every kitten we intentionally bring into the world to already have a loving home waiting before they are even born.
This allows us to keep our program purposefully small and focus on quality over quantity. Our queens are given appropriate time between litters, pairings are carefully planned, and we never believe producing more kittens should come at the expense of our cats health or quality of life.
Ethical breeding also means accepting responsibility for the lives we produce, not just until a kitten is sold, but throughout that cat's lifetime.
Our Cats Come First
Our breeding cats are family members first.
We utilize a Guardian Home Program so many of our breeding cats can live permanently with carefully selected families rather than keeping a large number of intact cats together in our home. This gives each cat individual attention, personal space, stability, and the opportunity to live as a cherished family companion throughout their breeding years and after retirement.
Our breeding decisions are always made around the individual cat. Health comes before a litter.
Health, Veterinary Care & Accountability
Responsible breeding goes far beyond producing beautiful kittens. We invest heavily in preventative health testing and veterinary care.
Our breeding cats undergo genetic/DNA testing, PCR screening, FeLV/FIV testing, and HCM cardiac screening as they mature.
Our kittens are also examined by our licensed veterinarian and leave with the appropriate Florida Health Certificate, along with our written kitten health guarantee.
We believe families deserve transparency and accountability when choosing the breeder responsible for the first months of their kitten's life.
Allergy-Conscious Siberians
Siberians are known for sometimes producing lower levels of Fel d 1, one of the primary proteins associated with cat allergies.
No cat can be guaranteed hypoallergenic, and individual reactions vary. However, as allergy sufferers ourselves, we understand how meaningful finding a more tolerable cat can be and are happy to help allergy-sensitive families explore whether a Siberian may be right for them.
Raised in Our Home
Our kittens are raised inside our home alongside our family and children, not in a commercial kitten producing type facility.
From their earliest weeks, they receive hands on care, affection, socialization, and exposure to normal family life. We focus heavily on temperament so our kittens develop into confident, affectionate, adaptable companions prepared for their forever homes.
The Gypsy Difference
Gypsy Siberians is intentionally small because we want it that way.
We plan families before litters, not litters before families.
Every pairing has a purpose. Every kitten has a home waiting. Every breeding cat's wellbeing matters beyond what they contribute to our program. Our kittens receive veterinary care and health documentation, and our families receive support that continues long after homecoming.
Our goal isn't to produce the most Siberians. It's to preserve the breed responsibly, raise exceptional companions, protect the cats entrusted to our care, and stand behind every kitten we bring into the world.
